The Bur Oak is a large native tree which develops a massive trunk and broad crown.  It is very tolerant of urban conditions.

Fall Foliage: Rusty Red

Shape: Columnar


A columnar, tightly fastigiate hybrid of English and White Oak.  The reddish fall color is inherited from the White Oak parentage, while the fastigiate growth habit is inherited from the English Oak parentage.  Summer foliage is a dark green to bluish green.

Fall Foliage: Yellow

Shape: Columnar


The summer foliage of this columnar Oak is glossy green.  In the fall the leaves turn yellow.  The Swamp White Oak parentage allows it to adapt well to wet, poorly drained soils.

The Shumard Oak is adaptable to many urban environments.  It is drought tolerant and fast growing with beautiful red fall color.
